Welcome! My name is Melissa Brady Hannay, and I am a PhD student enrolled in the dual degree programs for Integrative Biology and Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Michigan State University. My advisor is Dr. Catherine Lindell.
My research focuses on how bird populations are affected by agricultural landscapes, and ecosystem services that birds can provide to agriculture. Along with members of my lab, I have worked on determining if installing nest boxes for American Kestrels can increase their presence in Michigan blueberry growing operations. We are also working on determining if kestrel presence can decrease the abundance of fruit-eating birds, which would greatly benefit blueberry growers. |
